Contamination Policy

At the Oasis Aquatic Centre, we endeavour to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all our customers; however, to ensure we can continue to provide the healthy environment we strive to maintain, we do require your assistance.

In line with the Public Health Reform 2012, we are required to completely close a pool for several hours, depending on the level of contamination.

To help reduce the possibility of contamination and lengthy pool closures we need to ensure the following guidelines are followed:

  • Infants who aren’t toilet trained must wear tight fitting waterproof pants or swimming nappies.
  • Always wear appropriate bathing attire; swimming is prohibited otherwise.
  • All nappies must be changed in designated change rooms and not poolside.
  • Wash hands thoroughly with soap after changing nappies.
  • Dispose of soiled nappies in the bins provided.
  • Encourage toddlers to use the toilet frequently.
  • Change in appropriate change rooms after swimming.
  • If your child has an accident in the pool, they shouldn't re-enter until their swimwear is thoroughly cleaned.
  • We provide aqua nappies at reception for a fee. For larger sizes, visit www.theraquatics.com.au.

Regarding change rooms:

  • Separate male and female change rooms should not be accessed by individuals of different sexes. Families and special needs users should use family change rooms. Oasis Management understands the difficulties this can cause for young families and will give allowances or pre-school aged children (0-4 years) only.
  • Family change rooms are reserved for families and special needs customers only. Single-sex and able customers should use designated change rooms (male or female).
  • Baby change tables are available in both male and female change rooms.

If your child has been sick with vomiting or diarrhea in the last 7 days, please refrain from allowing them to participate in lessons and inform Oasis staff.

If an Oasis staff member approaches you about these guidelines, please don't take offense, we appreciate your ongoing support and understanding in addressing these important matters.

We thank you for your continued support of our facility and your understanding in addressing these delicate issues. As always, we welcome all feedback to help improve our facilities so please do not hesitate to contact us.
